This cost me so much time. Holding onto too much

This cost me so much time.

Holding onto too much stuff in my classroom cost me way too much time, energy, and peace of mind.

For years, I believed that the more resources, supplies, and “just-in-case” items I had, the better organised I’d be.

But the reality?

All that extra stuff only added stress and chaos to my day.

I was constantly shifting things around, trying to find space, and digging through clutter to locate what I actually needed. It was exhausting.

Eventually, I learned that organisation isn’t about having more — it’s about being intentional about each item’s place and purpose.

Once I started letting go of what didn’t truly serve me, my classroom became a calm, organised space, and I found myself with more time to focus on teaching.

But beyond that, I was able to spend more time outside of school, too.

More time doing what I love.

More time with who I love.

It might sound kooky, but decluttering is just that good.

Sometimes, less really is more.
